Description
In World War II Fighter Conflict, the author examines the evolution of the fighter aircraft during the Second World War. The book is divided into three parts. The first, " Honing the Blade ", describes how the state of the art of fighter design evolved up to 1939 and how it progressed during the six years that followed. The second part, " How They Compared " contains excerpts from recently released wartime reports of tactical trials on four of the famous fighters ( Focke - Wulf Fw 190, P - 51B Mustang, Hawker Tempest Mark V and Mitsubishi A6M5 Model 52 " Zeke " ). The third and final part, " The Tactics of Battle ", covers the evolution of fighter tactics during the Second World War.
