Description
A major reference work on German military aviation between 1933 and 1945, Warplanes of the Third Reich is one of William Green's best-known contributions to aviation history.
Originally published in 1970, this substantial 1986 American reprint was issued by Galahad Books, New York, by arrangement with Doubleday & Company, and distributed by Exeter Books.
The book provides an extensive survey of the aircraft developed and operated in Germany during the Third Reich, including fighters, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, transports, trainers and experimental designs.
Each aircraft type is examined through its development history, technical characteristics, operational background and principal variants.
The volume is extensively illustrated with historical photographs, technical drawings and aircraft profiles. The line drawings by Dennis Punnett are a particularly important feature of this reference work.
Its broad coverage makes it an important source of information for aviation historians, aircraft modellers, collectors and enthusiasts of Luftwaffe aircraft.
This comprehensive reference work provides detailed information about the warplanes that served the Third Reich during World War II. The book covers various aircraft types including fighters, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, and other military aviation assets developed and operated by Nazi Germany. With technical specifications, operational histories, and detailed analysis of each aircraft type, this volume serves as an authoritative guide to understanding the aerial warfare capabilities and aviation technology of the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War period.

Best book on the subject.....period. I almost fainted when I found a copy of the 1993 republished edition at Waldenbooks when it came out. I was even happier when I replaced it with a 1st edition copy years later. The book is absolutely outstanding. If you have this book and Chamberlain's Encyclopedia of German Tanks, you will have everything you need to understand the German war machine.
