Originating from the 1950s or 1960s, this solid lead or white metal model is reminiscent of mid-century recognition models used by military personnel or promotional travel agency desk items. It captures the distinct aerodynamic lines of the British Fleet Air Arm's very first operational carrier-borne jet fighter.
The aircraft is finished in a nostalgic hand-painted silver coat with painted cockpit canopies, underwing gun barrels, and tricolor fin flashes on the tail. It rests gracefully on a curved wire mounting arm inserted into its original dark blue, triangular wooden or heavy composite base. The base features a classic hand-stenciled yellow and red British military roundel at its center.
