Description
Here is a complete and authentic anthology of all bomber-type aircraft that have ever been assigned "B" designations by the U. S. Army Air Corps and the U. S. Air Force, ...plus the "pilotless bomber" missiles. Information is also given about the various models of each type of aircraft.
The book starts with the historical Keystone XB-1 biplane of 1928 and continues in sequence through the little-known "pre-war" bombers of that era. Following are the famous B-17, B-24, B-25, B-29, and other famous bombers of World War II that most of us well remember, then the amazing jets and missiles many of which are still in active use. Included are some little-known designs of bombers that never reached production stage.
The detailed descriptions of these aircraft include specifications, performance figures, design features, plus data about armament, powerplants, production, outstanding features, etc. All of this is supplemented by more than 200 excellent photographs (several different ones of each plane), plus 74 three-view scale drawings that will be of particular interest to aircraft modelers.
A special feature of the book is the section that contains a complete "scale chart" of all U. S. bombers.
