Description
A completely new and revised edition
The World's
Fighting Planes
WILLIAM GREEN
For this fourth and completely revised edition of this internationally famous handbook, the landscape format which characterised the three previous editions gives way to crown quarto in order to provide greater flexibility of illustration and the introduction of Lone general arrangement: drawings in place of the silhouettes employed hitherto.
The World's Fighting Planes provides a comprehensive survey of all current combat aircraft serving in the world's air arms or currently under development. Containing a wealth of new illustrations, facts and figures, it provides an indispensable guide and source of reference. All the principal types of combat aircraft are illustrated with superb tone general arrangement drawings by Peter Endsleigh Castle, while some obsolescent types still serving with the world's smaller air arms and new combat types under development but yet to fly, such as the F-11, the A-7A, the Viggen, and the VFW 1262, are illustrated by general arrangement line-drawings by Dennis I. Punnett who has also contributed a large number of comparison drawings which show variants of many combat types. The drawings are complemented by a large number of the latest available photographs.
The World's Fighting Planes offers the most detailed and up-to-date coverage yet published of the military aircraft of the Soviet Union, as well as the latest aircraft developed by the Western Powers. It will be invaluable to all aircraft enthusiasts, modellers, students of Air history and serving members of the Armed Forces.
