Description

Spectacular 20th Century "Stand-Up Aviation" Adventure!

A political upstart named Adolf Hitler was wounded in a street debacle in November 1923, the same month that LCdr. Zachary Lansdowne completed nearly two years in Berlin as Assistant Naval Attache. While the fanatic victim went to prison to write a thick book about changing the frontiers of Europe, the Lansdownes shipped themselves and their belongings back to Washington.

Lansdowne was a man of mobility as he moved around in connection with the building of large rigid airships for the Navy. There was no danger of getting stale on the job, since the service transferred him every 18-22 months.

By Nov. 28, 1923 the happy Lansdownes were ensconced back in Washington and the airshipman reported to Admiral Moffett on the progress being made on the ZR-3, which would be ready for fly-over delivery to America as part of reparations in less than a year.
