This book will undoubtedly influence the reader's future contemplation of all aircraft bringing new appreciation to form and function.
Evan Ivory ( 1931 - 2018 ) was born and educated in St. Albans ( Hertfordshire, England ), later studying illustration, design and typography at the St. Albans and Watford Schools of Art and Design, gaining the National Diploma in Design. After serving two years National Service in Germany, in the Royal Signals Regiment, he worked as a technical illustrator and designer. Following a year - long sabbatical to write and create a book devoted to his favourite aircraft from the Second World War, he lectured in colleges in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire until his retirement in the 1980's.
A highly respected artist, Evan is best known for his watercolours, drawn on site, of aircraft, ruined castles and landscapes, especially from the Lake District, Cornwall and Greece.
