Description

About this series

The MMP/Stratus series is an internationally acclaimed collection designed for aviation enthusiasts, historians, and scale modelers. Each volume is characterized by meticulous research and exceptional iconographic richness, often highlighting lesser-known air forces and aircraft. By combining rare wartime photographs, precise technical analysis, and high-quality color profiles, this series provides an indispensable visual and historical resource for understanding the evolution of aerial combat and camouflage during the Second World War.

About this issue

The Romanian Air Force used an interesting variety of fighter aircraft during WW2, fighting initially with the Axis but later with the Allies. Romanian, Polish, British and German fighters were used with great bravery and no little success against much stronger opponents.

This book describes in great detail the colours and markings applied to the fighter aircraft used by the Romanians from 1939-45, including captured examples, illustrated with many rare photos and full colour profiles. A fascinating and invaluable look at a little-known aspect of WW2 aviation.

Aircraft described: PZL P.11, PZL P.24, IAR 80/81, Hawker Hurricane Mk I, Messerschmitt Bf 109E, Messerschmitt Bf 109G, Messerschmitt Bf 110, MiG-3 Early Type, Polikarpov I-16 type 29, Focke Wulf Fw 190.
