Asco, a Belgian corporation based at Zaventem, next-door to Brussels airport, today claims world leadership in the field of high-strength metals for the aerospace industry.
Its experience goes back to 1954, when it began supplying various parts for National Defense. The turning point occurred in 1979, when Asco began producing assemblies for aircrafts of the Airbus family. Asco after became a supplier, and sometimes a partner of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers, such as Boeing, Bombardier, Northrop-Grumman and, of course Airbus.
This publication retraces the steps of Asco's earliest history, then goes on to detail the first twenty years of its aerospace adventure.
