Today, we offer for sale this nice photograph that depicts the Ling - Temco - Vought ( LTV ) A - 7E - CV Corsair II ( Bu. No. 157 525 / AA - 410 ) of Fighter Squadron 81 ( VA - 81, " Sunliners " ), which is ready to be launched from USS Forrestal ( CV - 59 ).
Here are 157 525's successive assignments :
- 1971
VA - 82 as AJ - 306.
- 1975 - 1978
VA - 81 as AA - 410.
- 1979
VA - 83 as AA - 310.
- September 1989
Put into storage at the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center ( AMARC, " The Boneyard ", present - day 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, 309th AMARG ), located on Davis - Monthan Air Force Base ( Tucson, Arizona, United States ).
Between 1971 and 1982, VA - 81 made eight deployments to the U.S. 6th Fleet aboard USS Forrestal. Note the Northrop Grumman EA - 6B Prowler ( right - hand side ) and another A - 7E ( left - hand side ) in the background.
