Description
The A-36 Apache dive bomber was the first version of the North American Aviation Mustang family to go into action. Though often overlooked by later historians, the Apache pilots acquitted themselves well in combat both in the Mediterranean and the Far East. The first of the many Mustang aces achieved all his kills in Apaches.
This book describes and illustrates the design and development of this often overlooked type. It contains: a comprehensive development and operational history of the type; specially drawn scale plans; photos and drawings from the technical manuals; superb colour illustrations of camouflage and markings; rare black and white and select colour archive photographs; a comprehensive colour photo survey of the aircraft from preserved examples. Essential reading for aviation enthusiasts, modellers, flight sim builders and aviation historians.
