Description
Yak-7V (Vyvosnoi) was the main aircraft of initial training for fighter pilots during Soviet-German War (1941-1945). It was a continuation of one of the Yak-7UTI which was produced by Design Bureau. The airframe of Yak-7V was reinforced, as compared with it's predecessor Yak-7UTI, according to standards of fighter schools. Yak-7V was equipped with fixed landing gear, the armament was not installed, also a number of aerodynamic improvements were carried out. Yak-7V was in operational ability in all airfield conditions. During Russian snowy winters the landing gear of the aircraft was converted to wooden skis to allow landings on snow. The robust construction and fixed landing gear facilitated flight learning process. The pilots of Red Army Air Force and also pilots of Normandia-Neman and Warshaw regiments passed their training courses in pilot schools at the controls of Yak-7Vs. During the period since February, 1942 till December, 1943 all in all 697 Yak-7V were built. Technical and Tactical Specifications of Yak-7V: Length, m - 8.5, Span, m - 10.0, Start weight, kg - 2.725, Maximum speed, km/h - 472, Ceiling, m - 9.900, Range, km - 615
