Description
The LCM-3 (Landing Craft, Mechanized Mark 3) was a versatile U.S. Navy landing craft used extensively during World War II. Built to transport troops, vehicles, and heavy equipment from ship to shore, it played a vital role in amphibious assaults across Europe and the Pacific. Constructed of steel with a shallow draft, the LCM-3 could carry a 30-ton tank or up to 60 troops directly onto a beach using its large bow ramp. Powered by twin diesel engines, it was reliable and maneuverable in challenging coastal waters. Rugged and practical, the LCM-3 helped deliver the armored strength that supported Allied landings on hostile shores.
