Description
The USMC F-4B/N Phantom II was a carrier-capable supersonic jet used by the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and into the 1980s. The F-4B was the original Navy/Marine variant, featuring powerful twin engines, long-range radar, and the ability to carry a wide variety of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons. It had two crew members—a pilot and a radar intercept officer. The upgraded F-4N added improved avionics and structural updates. Known for its speed, versatility, and heavy payload, the Phantom served in close air support, reconnaissance, and fleet defense roles before being phased out in favor of newer aircraft.
