Description
WWII Soviet Ambulance Plane. One of the most important tasks of the Po-2 during WWII was to evacuate wounded soldiers from the front line to field hospitals. For this purpose, special containers were installed on the lower wing of the aircraft, into which stretchers with wounded were placed. The Po-2 could carry two wounded in such a way. Despite its low speed, the Po-2 successfully coped with this important task and saved the lives of many soldiers.
