Description
The Supermarine Spitfire, known for its elliptical wings and sleek design, first flew in 1936 and became one of WWII’s most iconic fighters. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, it played a key role in the Battle of Britain. The Mk.V variant was developed to counter the Bf 109F and featured a Merlin 45 engine and improved propeller. The Mk.VB was armed with two 20mm cannons and four 7.7mm machine guns, reaching a top speed of 598 km/h. Used by the RAF and many Allied air forces, the Mk.V served in all major theaters of the war.
