Description
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter introduced in 1938, famous for its role in WWII. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, it reached speeds over 580 km/h. Its sleek elliptical wings gave it excellent maneuverability and speed. Armed initially with eight .303 machine guns, later versions had cannons and rockets. The Spitfire excelled in air superiority, notably during the Battle of Britain, and was continuously upgraded throughout the war, becoming one of the most iconic and effective fighters of its era.
