Description
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was a legendary WWII fighter developed to counter the Luftwaffe. Powered by upgraded Rolls-Royce Merlin engines (such as the 45 and 46), it featured significant aerodynamic and equipment improvements over earlier marks. Production included variants like the Mk.Va, Vb, and the tropicalized Vc, often featuring the distinct Malcolm hood for better visibility. Armed with a mix of machine guns or Hispano 20mm cannons, Mk.Vs served globally with the RAF and Allied air forces in Europe, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.
