Description
The world famous British Spitfire was one of the best fighter aircrafts of the WWII period. The Spitfire Mk.VII modification was built in August, 1942. This modification was intended for intercepting the high-altitude reconnaissance aircrafts and bombers. Les avions Spitfire Mk.VII avait une cabine pressurizee cabin, engine with two-speed supercharger, and fuel system with extended tips. They have obtained all the best Spitfire's qualities such as reliability, simplicity in exploitation and handling qualities, power armament. For the first time the airplanes Spitfire Mk.VII have entered 124 Squadron of RAF in the spring of 1943. Till spring of 1944 six squadrons were equipped with the Mk.VII. They were used as high-altitude interceptors and fighters for high-altitude cover. A total of 140 airplanes Spitfire Mk.VII were built, the last being delivered in May, 1944.
