Description
The Spitfire Mk.Vb was one of the most widely produced variants of the iconic British fighter. Introduced in early 1941, it featured the more powerful Merlin 45 engine and a “b” wing, armed with two 20mm Hispano cannons and four .303 Browning machine guns. It offered improved performance over earlier marks and was used in multiple theaters, including Europe, North Africa, and the Mediterranean. Though later outclassed by newer German fighters, the Mk.Vb remained effective in the hands of skilled pilots. Its balance of speed, firepower, and agility made it a favorite among RAF squadrons during the mid-war years.
