Description
PZL.37B was the most modern Polish warplane right before WWII. It was developed in parallel with the first foreign twin-engine bombers featuring retractable undercarriage. The prototype was first flown on 13.12.1936. The aircraft achieved a top speed of 400 km/h. Eight of the fourteen PZL.37B aircraft produced before 1939 were seized by the Germans after the Polish campaign. The Luftwaffe was impressed with the performance of this new Polish bomber and used it during the attack on France. The standard version of PZL.37B was equipped with two 918 hp Bristol Pegasus XX engines. This aircraft could carry a bomb load of 2580 kg and could reach a maximum speed of 400 km/h at an altitude of 5000 m.
