Description
The Fw 190A-5 was a German WWII fighter introduced in 1943 as an evolution of the earlier A-4 variant. Its engine was mounted slightly forward to improve balance and allow for more internal equipment. Powered by the BMW 801D-2 radial engine, it maintained strong performance at low to medium altitudes. The A-5 was heavily armed with two 13 mm machine guns and four 20 mm cannons, making it effective against both aircraft and ground targets. It served in multiple roles including air superiority, ground attack, and bomber interception across various fronts.
