Description
The North American Mustang Mk I was the first version of the Mustang delivered to the Royal Air Force. It featured a Allison V-1710 engine and was used primarily for reconnaissance and ground attack early in WWII. The Mk I offered excellent low-altitude performance and long range, helping the RAF gain valuable intelligence and support ground forces before more powerful Mustang variants arrived.
