Description
Imperial Japanese Army Type 1 Fighter III KOH. The Ki-43 entered service with the Imperial Japanese Army in 1941. During the early war period, it was mainly deployed in Southeast Asia, New Guinea, and other regions. In October, it performed remarkably in raids over Rabaul, where it demonstrated overwhelming superiority. The Type 3 variant was adopted in 1944 for combat operations. Powered by the Nakajima Ha-115II engine with 1,150hp output for take-off and maximum speed of 555km/h, it had a range of 2,120km. Armament consisted of 12.7mm x 2 machine guns and bomb load of 30-250kg x 2. Wingspan: 10.837m, Length: 8.920m, Height: 3.270m, Wing area: 21.4m², Empty weight: 2,240kg, Loaded weight: 2,760kg.
