Description
The A6M2-N Rufe was a floatplane version of the A6M2 Zero, built in 1941 for amphibious support and base defense. It featured two 7.7mm machine guns, two 20mm cannons, a central float, and wing stabilizers. Used mainly in the Aleutians and Solomon Islands, it was agile but slow and lightly armored. Over 300 were built, some assembled at Sasebo’s Dai-Nijuichi Kaigun Kokusho.
