Description
The Mitsubishi G4M was a twin-engine bomber used by the Imperial Japanese Navy in WWII. Built for long range and speed, it lacked armor and self-sealing fuel tanks, earning the nickname "flying lighter" due to its tendency to catch fire when hit. The G4M1 Model 11 entered service in 1941 and saw action in key battles, including Pearl Harbor and the sinking of the Prince of Wales and Repulse. Despite its vulnerabilities, it stayed in frontline service until the war’s end due to the absence of a suitable replacement.
