Description
The Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Fighter, featured in this 1/48 scale Tamiya model kit, was Japan’s premier carrier-based fighter from 1940 to 1945. Known as "Reisen" or "Zeke," it combined exceptional maneuverability with long range. Early in WWII, the Zero earned a legendary reputation, boasting a kill ratio of 12:1. However, by mid-1942, improved Allied tactics and aircraft narrowed the gap. By 1943, design limits and engine power shortfalls made the Zero less effective. Still, it remained in use through the war, ending in kamikaze roles during the final Pacific battles.
