Description
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23BN “Flogger-H” was a dedicated ground-attack variant of the MiG-23 developed in the 1970s. Built by the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau, the MiG-23BN featured a simplified nose without radar, improving pilot visibility for strike missions. Equipped with variable-geometry wings, it combined high-speed performance with low-level stability. Powered by a single turbojet engine, it could carry bombs, rockets, and guided missiles on multiple hardpoints. Exported widely, the MiG-23BN served with several Warsaw Pact and allied air forces, proving effective in close air support and battlefield interdiction roles.
