Description
The MiG-21PF was an early variant of the iconic Soviet MiG-21 series introduced in the early 1960s. It was designed as a supersonic interceptor and air superiority fighter, equipped with an improved radar system (RP-21 Sapfir) and capable of carrying air-to-air missiles such as the K-13 (AA-2 Atoll). Powered by a powerful turbojet engine, the MiG-21PF could reach speeds over Mach 2 and featured a sleek, delta-wing design for excellent maneuverability. It served extensively with Soviet and allied air forces during the Cold War and saw combat in numerous conflicts, proving itself as a fast, agile, and versatile fighter despite limited range and avionics by modern standards.
