Description
The MiG-17F "Fresco" was an improved version of the Soviet MiG-17 jet fighter, introduced in the early 1950s. It featured an afterburning engine, giving it better speed and climb performance than its predecessor, the MiG-15. With a swept-wing design and powerful armament of three cannons, the MiG-17F was agile and effective, especially at lower altitudes. Though subsonic, it proved a dangerous opponent in conflicts like the Vietnam War, where it could out-turn faster U.S. jets in close combat. Rugged and reliable, the MiG-17F served with many air forces worldwide for decades.
