Description
The BF109 series of fighter aircraft, was the work horse of the German Luftwaffe during WW2, with the BF109E-3 version the first to see major production output. Greatly improved over the earlier 109's, its more powerful Daimler Benz engine, better armament, and excellent acceleration made it one of the real power fighters in the skies over Europe. The major external differences are the 20mm cannon extending from the wing leading edges, and the rounded, older type of cockpit canopy and windscreen.
