Description
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 was a late-war variant of Germany’s iconic Bf 109 fighter, introduced in 1944 to counter increasingly advanced Allied aircraft. Powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine with MW 50 methanol-water boost, it could reach speeds up to 710 km/h (441 mph) and had a combat range of around 850 km. The G-10 featured a strengthened airframe, improved high-altitude performance, and heavier armament, typically including a 20 mm or 30 mm cannon firing through the propeller hub and two 13 mm MG 131 machine guns. Its design balanced speed, firepower, and agility, making it highly effective in dogfights, bomber interception, and ground attack roles. Though introduced late in the war, the Bf 109 G-10 exemplified the culmination of decades of German fighter development.
