Description
The Lublin R.XIII D was a Polish liaison and observation aircraft developed in the early 1930s as part of the successful R.XIII family. Designed as a high-wing monoplane with excellent short takeoff and landing performance, it was well suited for cooperation with ground forces. The R.XIII D variant was powered by a Skoda-Wright J-5 radial engine and featured a fixed landing gear, an open cockpit, and robust construction for operation from rough airfields. It could be fitted with light defensive armament and small bomb loads for reconnaissance or harassment missions. Widely used by the Polish Air Force before and during the opening stages of World War II, the R.XIII D proved reliable and versatile despite being obsolete by 1939.
