Description
The Kawasaki Ki-100 was a Japanese World War II fighter aircraft developed from the Ki-61 Hien. After engine shortages, the liquid-cooled engine was replaced with a Mitsubishi Ha-112-II radial engine, resulting in excellent maneuverability, reliability, and climb rate. Introduced in 1945, the Ki-100 proved highly effective against American aircraft like the B-29 and P-51 Mustang. Despite limited production and late deployment, it was one of Japan’s best-performing fighters of the war, praised for its agility and robustness in combat.
