Description
Here is a concise ≈800-character version (about 802 characters):
The Ju 87B Stuka, with its wailing siren and steep dives, became a symbol of Germany’s 1939 Blitzkrieg. Its origins trace to Ernst Udet’s interest in U.S. dive-bombing techniques in the early 1930s, leading to a Luftwaffe competition in 1936. Though slower than the He 118, the Ju 87 could dive vertically and recover safely; a failed high-angle dive in the He 118 convinced Udet to support the Junkers design. Early A-series models were underpowered until the 1,000 hp Jumo 211A enabled mass production. The improved B-series introduced a revised fuselage and, in the B-2, the 1,200 hp Jumo 211Da, boosting performance. Data: crew 2; span 13.8 m; length 11.1 m; max speed 383 km/h; armament 3×7.92 mm MGs and up to 1,100 kg of bombs.
