Description
The Ilyushin IL-2 Stormovik was the most produced aircraft of World War II, known as "The Flying Tank" for its heavy armor. Designed for low-level attacks it was highly effective against German armor. Joseph Stalin called it "as essential to the Red Army as air and bread." Built in both single-seat and later two-seat versions with a rear gunner, the IL-2 served on every front throughout the war.
