Description
The Henschel Hs 123 A-1 was a German single-seat biplane dive bomber and close-support aircraft introduced in the mid-1930s. Rugged and highly maneuverable, it was powered by a BMW 132 radial engine and armed with two 7.92mm machine guns and up to 450 kg of bombs. Though outdated by WWII standards, its durability and reliability made it effective in ground-attack roles during the Spanish Civil War, Polish campaign, and early Eastern Front battles. Despite being retired in 1940, it was brought back due to a lack of suitable replacements and served successfully until 1944 in frontline and anti-partisan roles.
