Historical Background:
The Heinkel He P.1078 B was a radical, tailless flying-wing concept designed in 1944 for the OKL (Oberkommando der Luftwaffe) Emergency Fighter competition.
Its unique asymmetrical fuselage design featured twin nose cones:
  • Port Cone (Left): Accommodated the pilot's cockpit.
  • Starboard Cone (Right): Housed the heavy armament of two 30mm cannons.
  • Center: The air intake for the single turbojet engine was set directly between and slightly behind the twin cones.
The wings were swept back at 40° and gulled, utilizing negative-dihedral (anhedral) wingtips for lateral control instead of a traditional vertical tail. Although highly innovative, the P.1078 series was ultimately passed over by the military authorities in favor of the Focke-Wulf Ta 183.
A fantastic and unusual piece for any collector or builder specializing in "Luftwaffe 1946" and secret weapons of WWII.
Fast shipping. The item will be securely packed with sturdy bubble wrap protection.
