Description
The Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 was a British carrier-based fighter-bomber developed from the wartime Sea Fury series for the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. Powered by the robust Rolls-Royce Centaurus, it could reach speeds over 430 mph and was armed with four 20 mm Hispano cannons, plus the ability to carry bombs or rockets for ground attack. Introduced in the late 1940s, the FB.11 served in Korea and later in various naval fleets. Its rugged design, excellent speed, and maneuverability made it one of the fastest piston-engine fighters ever deployed, marking the final generation of propeller-driven carrier fighters before the jet age.
