Description

Fw 190D-9 Stab/JG 4, Frankfurt am Rhein-Main, April 1945. General der Jagdflieger Adolf Galland's FW 190D-9 aircraft assigned to Stab/JG 4 at Frankfurt am Rhein-Main April 1945. Galland's D-9 carried the blue and yellow stripes of the General der Jagdflieger on the fuselage and was armed with 1 x 30mm MK 108 cannon and 2 x 13mm MG 131 machine guns. The FW 190D-9 was the last production fighter version of the famed Focke Wulf radial-engined fighter line. Power was provided by a Junkers Jumo 213 A-1 inverted V12 liquid-cooled engine of 1,776 hp giving the aircraft a top speed of 426 mph at 21,650 ft.
