Description
The Fw 190A-8/R2 was a heavily armed variant of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8, tailored for bomber interception. Introduced in 1944, it replaced the outer wing machine guns with 30 mm MK 108 cannons, giving it devastating firepower. Powered by a BMW 801D-2 radial engine, it maintained solid performance despite the added weight. Armor protection was increased for pilot survivability during close attacks. Deployed by specialized Sturmgruppen units, the A-8/R2 was designed to break up Allied bomber formations, making it a fearsome opponent in the skies over Europe.
