The Fokker 50 registered OO-VLM was operated by VLM Airlines and became a familiar sight on short regional routes across Western Europe. The Fokker 50 is a reliable twin turboprop aircraft designed for efficiency on short haul flights, typically seating around 50 passengers in a comfortable cabin layout. OO-VLM was often used on high frequency business routes such as Antwerp to London City, where its strong short runway performance and quick turnaround capability were ideal. Powered by Pratt and Whitney Canada engines, it offered low operating costs and dependable service. Like many aircraft in the VLM fleet, it supported the airline’s reputation for punctuality and convenient regional connections before the carrier ceased operations in 2018.
