Description
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was designed as a wartime auxiliary fighter to the Bf 109, quickly proving so successful that production exploded. Highly agile, rugged, and heavily armed, it became a cornerstone of the Luftwaffe. The A-8 was a major mass-produced variant, featuring a BMW 801D-2 radial engine, a relocated radio, and expanded fuselage fuel tanks. Heavily armed with twin 13mm MG 131 machine guns and multiple 20mm MG 151/20 cannons—or upgraded as the Sturmbock for anti-bomber duties—it reached speeds of 656 km/h.
