Description
The FW190 was the aircraft that, for the Luftwaffe's pilots, became a symbol of German fighter capabilities. It was more robust than the Bf109 version existing at the time and its main characteristic thanks to its powerful radial engine and its characteristics. In fact, many variants were designed thanks to this platform. The most successful was the A-8 which was based on the earlier A-7. The A-8 can be said that the final derivative of the standard A series. It was characterized by having a heavy armament package whose airframe design of gravity by 10mm over all existing variants for the fighter-bomber version. The FW190A-8 was approved into the production model version in January 1944 and carried a MG151/20 armament package, heavy load-based for the aircraft of this model. The most heavily produced of all the FW190 made several variants had been in production in Main's factories due to the Allied bombing at that time. The A-8 was basically the same as the A-7, but its heavy load armament of two MG131. Untern machine guns in the nose, one MK108 or 151 30 mm cannon, the FW190A-8/R 1, could be used by the Luftwaffe to attack American four-engined bomber formation. Another derivative is the A-8/R8 which carried MW50 water boost tanks for improving the speed performance, located behind the cockpit. A night fighter bomber was developed around the basic variant. The A-8/R11 was designed around the concept of a high-speed night fighter jet equipped to use interceptor. Many of these aircraft eventually received weapons upgrade so they could engage bomber units. The FW190 has a big legacy for improved pilot vision. A long canopy labeled Galland Haube was implemented in the aircraft to improve vision around the pilot's seat in combat. This Galland hood carries the name of support radar fighter-bomber and two 300mm mortar-launching underwing. In Kiev, height, 2,200m, range at 0.8 km high 835 km, ceiling 11,410m, armament four 20mm MG151. Data: Fw190A-8, Length: 8.95m, armament: 4 x 20mm MG151/20, 2 x MG131 13mm machine gun x 2, MG151/20 20mm cannon x 2, 20mm engine BMW801D-2, MAXIS, height 3.95m, wing span 10.50m, BMW801D-2 (rated at 1,730hp at take-off), SC50 wing ordnance 13mm machine gun x 2, MG151/20 20mm cannon x 2.
