Description
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch was a German WWII liaison aircraft known for its incredible STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capabilities. It could take off in just 200 ft (60 m) and land in 70 ft (20 m), ideal for rough, small fields. Used mainly for liaison duties, it also served in roles such as reconnaissance, VIP transport, medical evacuation, artillery spotting, glider towing, and supply drops. Its low speed and high maneuverability made it an outstanding observation platform, and it remains one of the most iconic utility aircraft of the war.
