Description
The Douglas A-20J Havoc was an improved late-war version of the versatile American attack bomber, designed to enhance the capabilities of the earlier A-20G. Retaining the solid “gunship” nose of the G model, the A-20J featured upgraded avionics, stronger defensive armament, and improved engines for better performance and reliability in combat. It excelled in low-level attack, ground support, and night operations across the Pacific and European theaters. With its crew of three, heavy forward firepower, and rugged construction, the A-20J proved fast, durable, and deadly, carrying on the Havoc’s reputation as a highly effective multi-role attack aircraft before being succeeded by the A-26 Invader.
