Description
The Dornier Do 22 was a German-designed maritime reconnaissance and torpedo bomber developed in the 1930s. A single-engine, low-wing monoplane with a distinctive floatplane configuration, it was built for export and not used by Germany itself. Only a small number were produced, serving primarily with the air forces of Yugoslavia, Greece, and Finland. Armed with machine guns and capable of carrying bombs or torpedoes, the Do 22 saw limited action during World War II, particularly in the early Mediterranean and Balkan campaigns.
