The Curtiss P-40E Warhawk was a rugged American single-seat fighter and ground-attack aircraft used extensively during World War II. Powered by an Allison V-1710 engine, the P-40E featured improved armament with six .50 caliber machine guns and increased armor protection. Though outperformed at high altitudes, it excelled in low-to-medium altitude combat and ground support roles. The P-40E served with the U.S. Army Air Forces and Allied air forces, including the famous "Flying Tigers" in China. Its durability, firepower, and ease of maintenance made it a reliable workhorse in multiple theaters of war.
