MAKE: Bristol Fighter F.2B. ROLE: Two-seat fighter-reconnaissance. POWERED BY: One 275 h.p. Rolls-Royce Falcon III engine. PERFORMANCE: Maximum speed at 5,000ft, 122 m.p.h.; service ceiling 20,000ft; endurance 3 hours. DIMENSIONS: Wing span 39ft 4in, length 26ft 2in, height 9ft 9in. ARMAMENT: One forward-firing Vickers machine gun and single Lewis gun at rear. Light bombs could be carried. REMARKS: First flown in 1916 and entered Royal Flying Corps service on the Western Front in April 1917. Popularly known as the Brisfit, the type continued in RAF service until 1932. Total of 3,469 built.
