Description
Bf 109G-6 was the most produced variant of the Gustav series. It was introduced in early 1943 with the DB 605A engine. Its armament consisted of two 13mm MG 131 machine guns above the engine and one 20mm MG 151/20 cannon firing through the propeller hub. Some G-6s were fitted with 20mm gun pods under the wings or a 30mm MK 108 cannon instead of the MG 151/20. The G-6 could also carry a 300 liter drop tank. The G-6 was produced in several factories, one of them being Erla Maschinenwerk GmbH in Leipzig. Erla produced Bf 109Gs from the autumn of 1942 to early 1945. Erla-built aircraft can be recognized by some typical features, such as rounded wingtips and simplified supercharger intake. This boxing offers plastic parts for the Erla manufactured Bf 109G-6 variant.
